With just a couple of days keeping us apart from the beginning of April, I started searching the web for interesting things to do this month. And let me just say that April looks like a pretty exciting month this year. Besides sunny skies and holidays, April also has a lot to offer when it comes to movies and TV shows.
So, here they are: the 5 things to be excited about in April.
1. The Hunger Games
After all the media coverage that The Hunger Games got, now we can finally see it. So, if you’re wondering how to spend your first week of April, I guess that going to the cinema might be just the right thing. I must admit that I haven’t seen the movie yet. In fact, I am actually about to go and see it tonight. But, judging by the fact that it’s already taken the lead in this week’s box office, this can only mean that it’s worth checking out. And although, since the release of the Twilight Saga, I am not really a fan of teen movies, the plot seems interesting enough to make The Hunger Games look like a promising movie. Either way, I guess I’ll find out for myself tonight.
2. April Fools’ Day
April is also a funny month, and that’s mainly because of April Fool’s Day. Now, I know that some pranksters get carried away and what starts out as a joke turns out to be a nightmare for the fooled. But on this day, you kind of have to expect others to try and fool you. Whether you are usually the prankster or the fooled, try to make fun of the situation. Because, in the end, that’s the whole point of April Fool’s Day: to put a smile on everybody’s face. Even if for the fooled, the smiling part sometimes comes after sharing a couple of tears and swear words, when the prank is so well done that it almost seems real.
3. Game Of Thrones
But this year, April 1st is not only April Fools’ Day. It also marks the beginning of one of the most expected TV shows this year. Because this April 1st, it’s time to turn on your TVs, and watch the first episode of the Second Season of Game of Thrones. And given the fact that the First Season was so complex, with such amazing characters and plot, the Second Season of Game of Thrones can only be a reason of excitement. Especially since this season doesn’t only bring new twists to the plot, but also a large number of new characters, each one with its own well shaped personality and views concerning who should rule the Seven Kingdoms.
Another reason for joy this April is Easter. Besides getting all those free days, when you can relax and enjoy all those delicious traditional meals, Easter is also a reason to be joyful, because it’s one of those moments when the entire family is gathered at the table, and everyone has something to share. Plus, in some parts of the world, it’s a particular happy day for children, because they get sweets and other goodies from the Easter Bunny.
5. Titanic 3D
Last, but not least, April has one more surprise to offer. After starting the month with The Hunger Games, why not end it in the same fashion? Because this month, you can watch for yet another time one of the most watched, appreciated and dramatic movies of all times. This is the one and only Titanic, and starting this April, you’ll get to actually feel the Iceberg hitting the famous ship, since the movie is being re-released in 3D. Now, I tend to think that a 3D feature is better suited for action movies or animations. So, I don’t quite see how it’s going to improve the Titanic experience, since the movie is more about the dramatic story than the special effects. But, either way, it’s still something to be at least curious about this April.
