The Hunt: Realistic and Troubling

I’m going to break the habit this week. So, instead of talking about the movie that is most likely to hit the Box Office this weekend, which is clearly Pacific Rim, I’m gonna tell you a bit about The Hunt.

The Hunt is being released this weekend in the U.S., and if you’re not ill-tempered (like me), you should see it. And I say this because the movie is really well played. Extremely realistic. But the subject is a bit irritating. Especially if you put yourself in the main character’s shoes.

In brief, The Hunt is the story of a lie being totally blown out of proportion. About a little girl who, being angry at her kindergarden teacher, makes up a story about him. A story that is interpreted by the principal of the school as a confession of molestation. Evolving into one of the biggest scandals and hysterias a small can see.

The Hunt isn’t the type of movie to see after a busy day at work, when all you want to do is relax and enjoy an easy comedy. You watch it when you feel like watching something else. When you want to take a break from all the blockbusters out there. Because if you get really caught up in the story, it will make you question everything. Who you can trust. Who you can rely on. What makes a man innocent, and how he can prove his innocence when everybody thinks he’s guilty. And just how safe you are, even if you follow all the rules and keep yourself from harming others.

Because what happens in The Hunt…it could easily happen to you one day.
