Of all games, my least favorite are the ones where you have to use the gyroscope to control the game. My moves are always too sudden or, quite the contrary, too slow, so I end up dead in the first couple of minutes of the game. That’s why I don’t usually play car racing games, because most of them use this type of control. So, you can imagine I was a bit skeptical about downloading Crazy Monster Truck – Escape, but the graphics looked really good for a free game, so I decided to give it a try. And I’m glad I did.
What I liked the most about Crazy Monster Truck – Escape is that you have to work for every little thing if you want to succeed. At the beginning of the level, you can only move your car from one end of the screen to another. You can’t jump or move any faster, and there are no airbags to keep you safe if you hit another car. That is nless you collect the power-ups that enable you to do so. You only have a couple of lives to spend, so if you don’t put your back into collecting all these power ups, it will probably be game over for you after a couple of minutes.
The goal is classic: escape the police, while collecting the power-ups and avoiding obstacles. From cars to trains and barriers you’ll have to jump over, there are all sorts of obstacles waiting for you along the way. And bare in mind you won’t be able to avoid all of them without using the power-ups. The more miles you run without getting caught by the police, the more points you earn and the faster you unlock the next levels. Each level comes with even more challenges, but also with a collection of beautiful designed monster trucks to choose from.
If it weren’t for all the pop-up ads, Crazy Monster Truck – Escape would definitely deserve an A. In the meantime, it’s still a pretty great game, because of all the beautiful graphics, the engaging game play and being quite challenging, as well as fun.
